Mount Rainier, Washington

Adventure guides are now live on the site for both New Mexico and Washington state! More guidebooks and links are also forthcoming for a few destinations in these states. I’ll be sure to update the respective adventure guides pages with additional links as new guidebooks go live on FATMAP, so you can consider these resources to be living documents that are constantly updated. While neither of these state pages provides as deep of a dive as the 20 destinations I covered in Oregon, the month I spent in New Mexico in June of 2021 helped me get a better grasp of what this exceptionally underrated state has to offer.

On the New Mexico page, you’ll find guidebooks, articles, recommended routes, and lived adventures from:

  • Albuquerque

  • Angel Fire

  • Bernalillo

  • Glorieta

  • Red River

  • Santa Fe

  • Taos

I still have more New Mexico destinations on my wishlist, but these will definitely help you get started!

Washington

Mount Rainier

To be totally honest, I have tons of places that I want to visit in Washington state that I still haven’t made it to yet. My most recent visit to the state was cut short by pervasive smoke, so 2021 still didn’t satisfy my thirst to explore this incredibly diverse region. Consequently, I only have a few guides published from Washington based on personal experience… but you can, of course, find much more info on FATMAP.

Destinations that I’ve personally visited in Washington and guides that I’ve written include:

  • Bellingham

  • Greenwater

  • Mount Rainier National Park

  • White Salmon

Stay tuned for the next batch of adventure guides, coming soon!
